PEZ® candy was originally invented in Vienna, Austria, as an alternative to smoking. Eduard Haas III created these internationally-known treats and named them after the German word for peppermint, "Pfefferminz." He took the first, middle and last letters to make the name we all know today.
PEZ® was first introduced to the US in 1952 and has since become a staple in the candy world, bringing all kinds of designs inspired by pop culture.
ABOUT THE SERIES
This series was created by PAMP Suisse, with the first item being the popular Snowman PEZ Dispenser Set. The Rubber Duck PEZ Dispenser Set followed soon after, and the Gingerbread Man PEZ Dispenser Set as well. Several other designs came along the way, and the Reindeer is the newest addition.
